Ryan Andrew Anderson Mechanicsburg, OH Death-Obituary: Gone Too Soon: Honda Assembly Worker, Adventurer, and Beloved Son of Mechanicsburg

Ryan Andrew Anderson, age 38, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, peacefully passed away on May 16, 2026, at Ohio State University Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him, reflecting a life marked by resilience, love for adventure, and deep connection to family and friends.

Born on July 26, 1987, in Springfield, Ohio, Ryan was the son of David and Kay (Gullett) Anderson. He graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 2006 and dedicated many years working in assembly at Honda. Ryan was known for his adventurous spirit, which led him to explore both near and far. His love for travel was evident in his cherished memories of visits to Walt Disney World, a place that held a special significance in his heart. After celebrating his 21st birthday with his first trip to Las Vegas, he returned multiple times, creating lifelong memories with each visit. His final trip in July 2023 took him to breathtaking sights including the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Valley of Fire State Park, and Eldorado Canyon.

Closer to home, Ryan treasured moments fishing at Indian Lake with his dad and grandparents, memories he deeply cherished, especially after their passing. He also enjoyed following storm chaser Reed Timmer and was captivated by live storm chases, reflecting his love for adventure and exploration.

Ryan’s greatest joy came from his beloved dogs, Erine and Charles, who provided him companionship and happiness. He was loved for his quiet strength, adventurous spirit, and the meaningful relationships he nurtured with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother; sister, Tiffany (Richie Bailey) Anderson; niece Jasmine Bailey; nephew David Bailey; aunts and uncles Connie and John Bishop, Roger and Karen Gullett, Shirley Weisenberger; and numerous cousins. Ryan was preceded in death by his father; half-brother Ben Anderson; grandparents Don and Ruth Gullett, Jim and Ruthie Anderson; and great-grandfather Willie Anderson.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at SKILLMAN, MCDONALD and VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, Ohio, with Pastor Lisa Attchison officiating. Friends may gather one hour prior. The family requests casual attire. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
