The incident occurred at approximately 9:39 a.m. Pacific Time, during an attempt to set a speed record. According to initial reports, Corey lost control of his landspeed vehicle about seven-tenths of a mile down the course, resulting in injuries that proved fatal.
Corey was a dedicated and passionate participant in land speed racing, known for his commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance and safety. His pursuit of excellence and love for the sport inspired many within the racing community. His untimely passing is a profound loss not only to his family, friends, and fellow racers but also to everyone who appreciated his enthusiasm and courage.
