Michael Loren “Redd” Ward, 58, of Latonia, Kentucky, passed away on May 14, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories cherished by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. His passing marks the loss of a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, and hardworking member of the community.
A proud graduate of Holmes High School in Covington, Redd spent more than 30 years working as a mechanic with Crescent Springs Hardware. Known for his strong work ethic, dependable nature, and mechanical skill, he earned the respect of coworkers and customers alike throughout his long career. Redd took pride in his work and approached life with determination, humor, and authenticity.
Beyond his profession, Redd was known for the passions and hobbies that brought him joy. He was an enthusiastic collector of Hot Wheels diecast cars and stereos, always appreciating the craftsmanship and memories connected to the things he loved. He also had a deep passion for drag racing and was a devoted fan of legendary racer John Force. Whether watching races, talking cars, or sharing stories with friends and family, Redd’s enthusiasm was contagious.
Above all else, Redd treasured his family. He shared 24 loving years of marriage with his wife, Tracy Ward, who stood beside him through life’s many chapters. He was a proud father to Michael Ward, Timothy (Abbigale) Shafer, Katelyn (Michael) Wells, and Chelsea Watson, and a loving grandfather to Bailey, Everleigh, and Luke, who brought endless happiness to his life.
Though deeply missed, Redd’s memory will live on through the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the countless lives he touched. His legacy of loyalty, hard work, and devotion to family will never be forgotten.
