We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Brayden Matheu Pearson, a bright and joyful young boy whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 14. Brayden passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Born on September 26, 2011, in London, Ohio, Brayden was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose radiant spirit touched everyone he met.
Despite battling a rare lung disease, Brayden remained an outgoing and happy boy, demonstrating remarkable resilience and strength. His love for life was evident in his passions—camping trips with his family, playing video games, watching his favorite movies, and following his favorite YouTube channels. Brayden also shared a special bond with his cat Sirius, who was his loyal companion and best buddy.
Brayden’s warmth and cheerful personality will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his papaw, Douglas (Dougie) Havens, and his great-grandparents, Donald and Ruth Ann Duncan, as well as Douglas and Beverly Havens. He leaves behind his loving mother, Amanda Havens; stepfather, Ryan Brown; sister, Bryleigh Pearson; stepsiblings, Tyler, Leeah, Mallory, and Emmalee Brown; grandparents, Nicole (Kirby) Duncan, Angie (Mark) Brown, Gerald Brown, and William Dannaker; aunts and uncles, Adam (April) Havens, Courtney (Dustin) Havens, Bethany (Jason) Havens, and Hunter (Cadee) Smith, along with many cousins. Brayden also is survived by his father, Zachary (Tyara) Pearson, and his sister Valkyrie, along with numerous loved ones who cared deeply for him.
A celebration of Brayden’s life will be held at Kirkpatrick Funeral Home on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 1 p.m., officiated by Joy Stanforth, associate pastor at Heritage Church. Burial will follow at Waterloo Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the start of the service. Brayden’s bright spirit will forever be remembered and missed by all.
