We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Molly Jane Stamey, who unexpectedly left this world on May 13, 2026, in Franklin. Born on August 31, 2003, in Macon County, Molly was a free spirit whose love of life and independence defined her. She was passionate about forging her own path, living authentically and embracing her individuality with courage and enthusiasm.
Molly was the beloved only daughter of Jessica Stamey, her proud and devoted mother. Jessica was Molly’s biggest supporter and the person she looked up to most. She also shared a close bond with her little brother, Jesse Holden, who loved her dearly and will forever cherish her memory. Her family extended to include her stepfather, Michael Hoagland, who was always just a phone call away, and her nanny, Donna Holden, who Molly knew would always come through with love and support. Other family members on her mother’s side include Uncle Donnie Holden and Aunt Amanda, as well as Brooklyn Vargas, her stepsister.
On her father’s side, Molly was the first daughter born to Jason Stamey. She was a daddy’s girl at heart, with a strong, unbreakable bond with her father. She is also survived by her nanny, Jennifer Stamey, grandfather Jeff Stamey, a half-sister, Mackenzie Stamey, and Aunt Jodie Bates. Molly was preceded in death by her great-uncle Weaver Shuler, who was a cherished family figure.
A private family service will be held at a later date to honor Molly’s life. Though her time with us was far too brief, her vibrant spirit, love of life, and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
