An 18-year-old Waterbury resident tragically lost his life early this morning following a two-car crash on Chase Avenue. The incident has deeply affected the local community, and authorities are continuing their investigation.
According to the Waterbury Police Department, the accident occurred around 12:50 a.m. near 91 Chase Avenue. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a Subaru Legacy and a Mazda 3I that had collided with significant force, causing heavy damage to both vehicles. The impact resulted in serious injuries for the occupants of both cars.
The three individuals in the Subaru were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Mazda’s occupants were also taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Mazda remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, while one passenger sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening and is in stable condition. Tragically, Luis Cisneros Fletes, the third occupant of the Mazda and an 18-year-old resident of Waterbury, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead this morning. His loss is deeply mourned by family, friends, and the community.
