The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 12-year-old Marshall Sepello, affectionately known to many as “Marshall Man,” whose inspiring spirit touched countless lives across Central New York and beyond.
A student in the Sherburne-Earlville School District, Marshall became known for his remarkable kindness, courage, creativity, and unwavering positivity. Despite facing difficult challenges at such a young age, he continued to inspire everyone around him with his imagination and determination to spread joy wherever he went.
Marshall’s story reached even more people when he partnered with Make-A-Wish Central New York and Liverpool-based film production company American High to bring his superhero dreams to life. Through the collaboration, Marshall was able to help create a superhero movie inspired by his own life, transforming his journey into a message of hope, bravery, and resilience for others to see.
Family members say Marshall’s greatest gift was the love he shared with the world every day. In a heartfelt statement, they said his legacy will forever be remembered through “the way he spread love and joy.” Those who knew him describe a young boy whose smile could light up a room and whose compassion left a lasting impact on friends, classmates, teachers, and even strangers.
Tributes have continued pouring in from community members who say Marshall reminded others to appreciate life, lead with kindness, and never stop believing in the power of imagination.
