Amber Lynn Payne Porter County, IN Death-Obituary: In Loving Memory of Amber Lynn Payne

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Amber Lynn Payne, age 36, of LaPorte, who tragically left us on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Porter County. Her sudden departure has left family, friends, and the community mourning the loss of a bright, loving soul whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met.

Born on January 9, 1990, in Riverside, Amber was the beloved daughter of Rebekah Bates Thomas. She graduated from Riverside High School in 2008 and later attended Ultimate Medical Academy. For the past year, Amber worked as a clerk at Family Express on Fail Road, where her friendly smile, strong work ethic, and caring personality made a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Amber was many things to those who loved her— a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, sister, and friend. Her big heart and welcoming nature created a sense of comfort and belonging for all she encountered. Her vibrant, energetic personality, often described as a “firecracker,” brought joy and laughter wherever she went. Once Amber committed herself to a goal, her determination was unwavering, reflecting her resilient spirit.

A creative soul, Amber loved crocheting and crafting, finding joy in making beautiful things with her hands. She had a deep passion for music and dancing, and her spirited presence could brighten any room. Her strength, kindness, and creativity left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Above all, Amber’s greatest love was her family. Her children—Abel, Bryce, Cyra, and Deegan—were her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Her love and devotion will continue to live on in their hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Allen Payne, Jr., her children, mother Rebekah Thomas, and numerous siblings and extended family. Amber was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Thomas, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the service. Cremation will follow. Though her time was too brief, Amber’s spirit, love, and laughter will forever remain in those she touched. She will be profoundly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
